A letter man is a high school or college student who has met a certain goal or level on an athletic team or marching band. The letter represents the activity you did with varsity. The term letter man comes from the letter on the cloth and together they make a Letterman Jacket. The sleeves of this jacket is leather with stripes on the wrist. They come in all color and sizes.
Letterman jackets are also popular because of the celebrity advertisement. Celebrities like Kanye West and Michael Jackson wore them. The letter itself can be customized into a symbol or anything that symbolizes your varsity.
